I was wondering why the rain gauge was giving spurious readings and didn't register any of the moderate rain of a few days ago. I took the funnel off the base this morning and found a resident spider and enough web to stop the buckets tipping.

The spider has now been evicted and the mechanisum cleaned up, tested and is working.
